APTR condemns violence and hate in all forms. The image of a mob storming our Capitol building and the assault on our democracy had a chilling effect on us all. The response to the insurrection highlights, yet again, the inequitable treatment of our BIPOC community by some law enforcement and citizens. APTR continues to support our membership in educating the next generation of health professionals, particularly when science denial is encouraged amid a global pandemic, a climate crisis, and the epidemic of racism. We look forward to working with the incoming administration on advancing prevention and population health education, research, and service.
