APTR invites faculty and administrators to a presentation and work session on the administration of diversity, equity and inclusion in public health and health professions education programs.

This webinar will begin with a presentation from the Council on Education for Public Health on the development of policies that support a climate of equity and inclusion followed by exemplars from Eastern Kentucky University and East Carolina University.

Participants are encouraged to bring DEI curricula and syllabi or relevant materials to the 3 breakout sessions to address:

  • Priority Populations (recruitment, retention, and service to local communities)
  • Policies and practices to advance DEI
  • Curricular approaches to advance DEI

Learning Objectives

Participants will:

  • Identify a planning process for establishing self-defined, priority underrepresented populations and associated goals.
  • Describe policies that support a climate of equity and inclusion using examples.
  • Describe approaches to incorporating DEI and cultural competency.
