This #GivingTuesday, APTR invites individuals and organizations to join us in supporting its Student Leadership Symposium which advances student understanding of the importance of team-based learning, policy, and population health. We welcome any contribution.
Each year the Association for Prevention Teaching and Research brings together public health and clinical health professions students from across 8 health professions to address population health challenges at the national and community level through the Paul Ambrose Scholars Program. Since 2002, more than 625 students from over 200 academic institutions have become Paul Ambrose Scholars.
A key component of the program is the annual Student Leadership Symposium held during the APTR annual conference Teaching Prevention. Students leave the Symposium inspired, engaged, and ready to make a difference in their communities. In the last five years, over 23,460 community members were served, and over 2740 volunteers were engaged in Scholars’ community projects.
