This one-hour recorded webinar provides an introduction to the laws, policies, and procedures for the ethical conduct and reporting of research. It is presented by Dr. Matthew Boulton who is an active researcher and leading national expert on the public health workforce. Dr. Boulton teaches Epidemiology & Preventive Medicine at the University of Michigan School of Public Health, and is the Editor-in-Chief of the American Journal of Preventive Medicine.

Participants will identify defining ethical milestones in the history of human research
Participants will describe key principles of research ethics and regulations including IRB, informed consent, conflict of interest, and the ethical reporting of research.
Participants will define vulnerable populations and explain why special protections are needed for them in research studies.
Participants will describe the guiding principles of publication, authorship, and peer review
Participants will identify actions that constitute unacceptable practices considered research misconduct.
