With Universities turning to distance and online learning APTR has developed this resource page for faculty from across the health professions. This page contains resources to assist faculty. We will update this page as needed to include new information. We welcome academic programs in sharing resources and links with us. Please email membership@aptrweb.org. - Navigating a Foodborne Outbreak: Preparation for Interprofessional Practice is a self-paced, interactive, online teaching module that demonstrates the importance of interprofessional practice among health professionals to improve and protect population health. The case scenario of the module is a fictional foodborne illness based on the 2015-2016 multi-state outbreak of Salmonella Poona associated with cucumbers.
- COVID-19 Patient Simulation: This "virtual patient" case is presented as a simulated patient experience and goes over the coronavirus differential diagnosis, important diagnostic tests, management including infectious disease precautions in the hospital, and home discharge protocols.
- Prevention and Population Health Teaching Modules
These seven teaching modules include ready to use material aimed at improving clinical and population-based prevention skills for all health professions students. This curriculum is designed to be easily integrated into existing curricula. Faculty can choose the materials that best fit with their teaching style and needs, from recorded PowerPoint presentations that students can view online, to population health cases which can be used in small group settings. The modules have been designed using the Clinical Prevention and Population Health Curriculum Framework. All seven modules feature presentations produced by subject matter experts, supplemental materials to facilitate small group learning, and a bibliography of key resources. Instructor guides are available for specific modules.
- You call the Shots is an interactive, web-based immunization training course. It consists of a series of modules that discuss vaccine-preventable diseases and explain the latest recommendations for vaccine use. Each module provides learning opportunities, self-test practice questions, reference and resource material, and an extensive glossary.
