Growth and Development of IPE at Health Professions Schools: Lessons learned from CDC/APTR Grantees
Join APTR for a webinar addressing interprofessional prevention education across the health professions. A panel of APTR/CDC grantees will discuss education innovations developed since the “Institute for Interprofessional Prevention Education (IPE) Project.” These institutions were considered early adopters and leaders in interprofessional prevention education in 2007 and 2008, and their IPE activities transformed over time. Grantees will describe the approaches that led to continued development and growth of innovative IPE initiatives on and off-campus, as well as obstacles and lessons learned.

Learning Objectives:
- Discuss and analyze the role of interprofessional education, service and scholarship in preparing a health workforce that is committed and able to address health disparities.
- Describe the interprofessional curriculum for caring for urban and underserved populations at the University of Connecticut and describe how the Urban Service Track has evolved over the last 10 years.
- Interpret institutional support of Interprofessional education as evidenced by scaffolded funding streams, IPE activities, and reorganization of leadership.
- Assess IPE initiatives within their respective institution and develop a strategic plan to advance IPE at their university.
