Advocacy

APTR seeks to protect and expand the partnership between its members and federal agencies. APTR advocates increasing federal support for prevention and public health education, research and training.

  • Expanded opportunities for public health research
  • Increased Centers for Disease Control and Prevention funding to assure that research findings are translated into effective state, local and community programs.
  • Working to ensure health discretionary spending remains highly visible as Congress and the Administration set federal budget priorities.
  • Support for adequate training so that the health care workforce is trained to meet the needs of our diverse population.

The CDC Coalition >>

The CDC Coalition's mission is to support a funding level for the federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention that enables it to carry out its mission to protect and promote good health and to assure that research findings are translated into effective state, local and community programs.

Campaign for Public Health >>

CPH is an independent, not-for-profit organization dedicatedto fighting disease andstrengthening health protection efforts by increasing the budget of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

Coalition for Health Funding >>

The Coalition for Health Funding is a nonprofit alliance of 50 national health organizations that works in a nonpartisan fashion to ensure that health discretionary spending remains highly visible as Congress and the Administration set federal budget priorities. Working with its members, the Coalition seeks to ensure that funding for the programs and agencies that comprise the U.S. Public Health Service is adequate to meet public need.

The Health Professions and Nursing Education Coalition (HPNEC) is an alliance of over 60 national organizations representing schools, programs, health professionals and students dedicated to ensuring the health care workforce is trained to meet the needs of our diverse population.

Partnership for Prevention >>

Partnership for Prevention is a membership organization of businesses, nonprofit organizations and government agencies advancing policies and practices to prevent disease and improve the health of all Americans. We seek to increase investment in preventing disease and promoting health and to make prevention a national priority.
