<title>APTR Announces F. Marian Bishop Educator Award Recipient</title>

<description><![CDATA[<p style="text-align: left;"><img src="https://deptcommon.fsm.northwestern.edu/profile-images/34716.jpg" alt="Neubauer" style="margin-right: 10px; margin-bottom: 10px; border-color: #ffffff; float: left;" />Leah C Neubauer, EdD, MA has been awarded the 2022 <a href="https://www.aptrweb.org/page/awards">APTR F. Marian Bishop Educator Award</a>. This award recognizes an APTR member who has made significant and outstanding contributions to the instruction of students or residents that advances the field of public health and prevention.&nbsp;</p><p>Dr. Neubauer is a nationally-recognized, award-winning educator. Her primary area of scholarship is focused on curriculum development in the health-related professions and sciences. As a critical educational methodologist and team scientist, she conducts collaborative global research specifically focused on the development, implementation, evaluation and dissemination of education and training.</p><p>Dr. Neubauer is an Associate Professor of <a href="http://www.preventivemedicine.northwestern.edu/">Preventive Medicine, Division of Public Health Practice</a>, in the Feinberg School of Medicine at Northwestern University. She is Affiliated Faculty with the Institute for Global Health and the Program of African Studies (PAS) and Ad-Hoc Faculty in The Graduate School. <title>Call for Resident Representative to AAMC</title>

<description><![CDATA[<p><span style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: Arial, sans-serif;">APTR Departmental Members are invited to nominate a resident physician to the Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC) Organization of Resident Representatives (ORR). APTR is an organizational member of the AAMC Council of Faculty and Academic Societies&nbsp;(CFAS) and will appoint one resident to bring the Preventive Medicine specialty perspective to the ORR.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: Arial, sans-serif;">Nominating residents to the ORR affords them an opportunity to have input into the development of AAMC policy and serves as both a leadership and professional development opportunity for residents interested in academic medicine. Residents are expected to participate in two ORR sponsored meetings per year, (either virtual or in-person), and will contribute the resident voice as needed to initiatives identified within the ORR membership. Meeting related expenses are funded by the AAMC.</span></p> <p><b><span style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: Arial, sans-serif;">The nominated resident will serve in the ORR from 7/1/2021 – 6/30/2023.<br /> </span></b><span style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><br /> Residents must be enrolled in in a residency or fellowship program as of <b>July 1, 2021</b>.
