Institutional Membership Categories

Institutional Membership (Level 3: $967, Level 2: $1,547, Level 1: $2,514)  | Join >>

Membership is open to academic institutions that advance public health, preventive medicine and population health.

  • Medical School Department: Department within a medical school focused on population health education.
  • Health Professions Institution: Health professions education institution such as a school of nursing, dentistry or pharmacy.
  • Practice Institution:  Institutions that are not academic but are related to prevention, community and/or public health education and/or research.
  • Graduate Public Health Program-Accredited: CEPH-accredited program outside of a school of public health granting an MPH or equivalent graduate degree in public health.
  • Graduate Public Health Program-Unaccredited: Program outside of a school of public health granting an MPH or equivalent graduate degree in public health that is not accredited by CEPH or is in applicant status.

Membership Includes:

  • Individual memberships for faculty from your department and/or program.

  • The following:
    Institutional Membership - Level 3 includes 5 individual memberships.
    (The representative plus 4 individuals)
    Institutional Membership - Level 2 includes 9 individual memberships. 
    (The representative plus 8 individuals)
    Institutional Membership - Level 1 includes 15 individual memberships.
    (The representative plus 14 individuals) 

  • Subscriptions to the American Journal of Preventive Medicine (AJPM)

  • Discounted registrations to Teaching Prevention, the APTR annual meeting that provides an opportunity for networking and education across health professions with a population health focus.

  • APTR-CDC Preventive Medicine and Public Health Fellowships provide opportunities to members and their students in public health and preventive medicine interest areas with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

  • APTR-ODPHP Health Policy Residency Rotations in Preventive Medicine offer APTR members access to continuing field placements for Preventive Medicine and Primary Care residents based at the Office of Disease Prevention and Health Promotion (ODPHP) in the Office of the Assistant Secretary for Health within the Office of the Secretary at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS).

  • APTR Awards Program provides the opportunity for APTR members to be nationally recognized for their contributions to preventive medicine and public health education, research, and service.

  • Curriculum Assistance with implementing new public health education recommendations.

  • APTR advances the work and scholarship of its members and prevention and population health education through member representation on federal and national groups.

  • APTR News Now, the E-newsletter of the association, highlights current activities and initiatives and provides updates for members on how policy affects academic population health and prevention, as well as funding opportunities, and member updates.

  • APTR Publications offers resources, curriculum, teaching materials, and self-study courses to support the teaching of clinical prevention and population health.

  • Online Membership Directory makes it easy to find colleagues. Members can search all APTR association members or view a listing of members.

  • The APTR Career Center contains faculty or academic positions. APTR members may post unlimited listings at no cost.
