Institutional Membership Categories Description Annual Cost
Medical School Department:  Open to any department or division within a medical school that is dedicated to the advancement of public health such as preventive medicine, population health community medicine, and family medicine departments.
Graduate Public Health-Accredited:

Open to any MPH degree-granting graduate public health program that is accredited by the Council on Education for Public Health (CEPH). 

Membership joins your program to the APTR Council of Graduate Programs in Public Health which represents accredited and emerging graduate public health programs and provides a forum for graduate programs and their faculty across the U.S. that grant public health degrees. Through the Council hundreds of faculty from graduate programs are provided curriculum and networking resources. The Council consists of any degree-granting program at the graduate level which prepares students for professional careers in preventive medicine, social medicine, community health and/or public health.

Graduate Public Health Program-Unaccredited:

Open to any MPH degree-granting graduate public health program that is newly emerged, planning for accreditation, or currently in accreditation applicant status with the Council on Education for Public Health (CEPH).  

Membership joins your program to the APTR Council of Graduate Programs in Public Health which represents accredited and emerging graduate public health programs and provides a forum for graduate programs and their faculty across the U.S. that grant public health degrees. Health Professions Institution: Open to health professions programs dedicated to the advancement of public health or with a population health focus.
 Practice Institution: Open to departments of health, federal agencies or other organizations dedicated to the advancement of public health or with a population health focus.

Individual Membership Categories Description Annual Cost
Individual Membership

Open to medical school educators, health professions schools educators or any other individual dedicated to the advancement of public health or population health education.

 Resident Membership Open to individuals currently in their preventive medicine or primary care residency period.  $105
 Retired Membership Open to individuals who have completed their academic careers and are fully retired. $99
 Student Membership Open to currently enrolled students in a medical school, graduate public health program or health professions school or program. $65
 Emeritus Membership Open to individuals who have completed their academic careers, are fully retired and were APTR members the ten years prior to their request. Request must be approved by the APTR Board of Directors
