Education For Health: A Vision For 2020
New Educational Models for Population Health Education

The case studies describe the development of successful prevention, population health, and public health programs in graduate health professions education programs. In collaboration with the Association of American Colleges and Universities (AAC&U) successful practices in population and public health education at 2-year and 4-year undergraduate institutions were also collected. Authors chosen to develop case-studies worked closely with discipline-specific Task Force organizations or AAC&U to complete 47 case-studies in the following disciplines:

Review and Selection Process

Ninety-eight applications were received in response to a Request for Applications (RFA) that was released February 2011. Members of the Task Force reviewed the applications from health professions education programs and 35 were selected and developed into full case studies. AAC&U reviewed and selected 12 applications to develop into case studies from undergraduate public health programs. AAC&U and members of the Task Force worked with the authors of the applications they were selected to develop the case studies.

 This project was made possible through a cooperative agreement with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Office of Public Health and Science (OPHS), Office of Disease Prevention and Health Promotion.
