Institute Dates: September 4-5, 2008
The 2008 Institute is designed to introduce or expand interprofessional prevention education (IPE) initiatives on campuses and in communities. The primary goal of the Institute is to address high-priority health problems by advancing interprofessional training and increasing the emphasis on prevention in health professions education programs. The plenary sessions will address ways to create an academic environment conducive to advancing IPE, clinical  prevention and population health programs, and evaluation strategies for identifying and measuring outcomes.
Other goals of the Institute are:
- To encourage the design and implementation of substantive IPE projects
- To increase the expertise (knowledge and skills) of faculty interested in IPE and enhance their ability to become change agents within their institutions
- To create a network of colleagues interested in spearheading national curricular reform
