July 17, 2007 - APTR joined over 1,000 organizations in signing a letter that will be advertised twice in the Roll Call, the newspaper of Capital Hill. The letter urges their elected official to vote in favor of the FY 2008 Labor, Health and Human Services and Education Appropriations Bill when the bill is debated on the House floor. The bill, which received unanimous, bipartisan support by the Labor, Health and Human Services and Education Appropriations Subcommittee, provides a modest, 4.8 percent overall increase for programs in the bill, most of which have experienced significant cuts, lost purchasing power, or both over the past three years.
