APTR Announces Call for Abstracts for Teaching Prevention 2014

The Association for Prevention Teaching and Research (APTR) is calling for submission of abstracts for oral and poster presentations for the APTR annual meeting, TEACHING PREVENTION 2014: Convergence of Technology, Innovation & Collaboration. Economic conditions, new technologies, evolving pedagogies, changing accreditation standards, and expanding definitions of academic scholarship are creating both new challenges and new opportunities for prevention faculty and practice professionals.
Teaching Prevention 2014 will gather the academic prevention and public health community to focus on the knowledge, skills, infrastructure and resources needed to practice and promote academic prevention. The meeting will feature thought-leader presentations, interactive plenary sessions, break-out sessions, poster presentations and networking reception.
Topics for oral and poster
Presentations should relate to the academic prevention and public health communities. Submissions must present innovations in program design, practice methods or educational techniques, the results of scientific research, or technological advances. Submissions from students or student/faculty teams are welcome.
Oral abstracts must address one of the four meeting topic areas:
- Bridging population health and clinical health to meet evolving prevention health needs
- Effective Academic-Practice Collaborations
- Demonstrating Innovative Technology In the Classroom and Clinical Setting
- Career Development in Prevention Practice and Scholarship
November 11, 2013 | Deadline for abstract submissions
December 15, 2013 | Lead author of each abstract will be notified of results
