APTR strengthens the practice and body of prevention research by providing funding and resources for our members to carry-out research at their institutions.
APTR-CDC Research Program
APTR has worked with CDC since 1982 to provide funding to APTR institutional members to support research, non-research, and investigator-initiated projects. Every year CDC identifies research and non-research Potential Extramural Projects. These are specific research topics that CDC has a genuine interest in funding. The nature of research activities supported under this agreement varies widely, but generally includes activities that strengthen the practice and body of research in the areas of disease prevention and health promotion.
The 2008 APTR-CDC Research Program application deadline is past. The following links will provide information on what funding opportunities were available. Funding opportunities for 2009 will be posted in December 2008.
- Potential Extramural Projects (Non-Research)
- Investigator Initiated Projects
Non-research based Investigator Initiated (IIA) applications are accepted; however, investigator initiated applications may or may not be reviewed depending on whether the appropriate Center, Institute, or Office within the Centers of Disease Control and Prevention can identify potential funding for an approved project.
