Healthy People 2020 and Education for Health
SUCCESSFUL PRACTICES INITIATIVE
The Association for Prevention Teaching and Research (APTR) and the APTR Healthy People Curriculum Task Force (HPCTF), in collaboration with the Association of American Colleges and Universities (AAC&U) congratulate the schools that were selected to submit case studies describing their successful programs and training initiatives that advance the teaching of prevention, population health, and public health. The resulting compilation of case studies, released fall 2011, highlight successful training activities and programs that support the Healthy People 2020 objectives on education and the HPCTF Education for Health framework which highlights the need for vertical integration of education from Pre-K through graduate education and the horizontal integration by clinicians, public health professionals, and educators. The case studies serve as implementation examples for others interested in developing similar initiatives within their teaching.
Authors submitting case studies were awarded an APTR Certificate of Excellence. Congratulations!
