The instrument measures:

Part 1: Interprofessional Education

Part 2: Prevention Education

The instrument was pilot-tested by experts in interprofessional education and prevention:

  • Phase I Pilot-test: Members of the American Interprofessional Health Collaborative (AIHC) reviewed the interprofessional section of the instrument and offered comments.
  • Phase II Pilot-test: APTR members with a long history of implementing successful prevention training into the curricula of their various health professions schools reviewed and commented on the prevention section.

The Interprofessional Education Assessment and Planning Instrument for Academic Institutions was developed for APTR at East Carolina University with the assistance of APTR member experts. Funding was provided through the APTR Cooperative Agreement with the Office of Disease Prevention and Health Promotion (ODPHP), U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.
